4Replacing Viera 50" bought in 2006 for 1/3 of the cost
By mr engineer
It replaces a 2006, 50" Viera and seems to be the same quality product but a lighter and smaller set built around the same screen size. It was delivered to my living room and set up and checked. I was very happy with the delivery. The set has an improvement that lets you directly access internet movies from several vendors by using my wireless network in-house server. I am not much of a pay-per-view person but U-tube videos are free. The only drawback compared to my older set is the lack of a reflection free screen. The older model featured some type of coating that stopped the mirror effect of lighting on the screen. The new screen acts like a mirror and reflects lighting brightly. Not good. The preference and set up menus are more elaborate to walk through than the older system but offer more. Overall I feel the reliability will be good in this set as it has been in the past with no service needed for 6 years. I gave my old set to someone and it was working like the day it was delivered in 2006.

5The reviews were right!
By Harshalexander
Before I make any large purchase I make sure to try and do my homework. I had an 8 year old panasonic lcd projection tv that worked fine but it was time for an upgrade. After looking at CNET, Consumer Reports, avs forums and others there was a consensus that this TV was the best TV of 2010. This TV has the best 3d and among the best 2d with some of the best black levels this side of the pioneer kuros series. After bringing it home and setting it up I am blown away. The 3d picture is fantastic to a point while watching Avatar with my son he said "Is this real!" The 2d picture is also spectacular with excellent black levels. I set this tv up with my PS3, xbox 360, and Wii and they all look fantastic. 3d gaming on the ps3 is an immersive experience.Overall, the only thing is that it is not as thin or flashy as the LED's but they can't touch the picture quality this tv gets. Great product!

4Unbiased TC-P54VT25 54" 1080p Plasma 3D TV review
By C. Vajrala
First of all, I'm not a technical expert on any of LCD/LED/Plasma TVs. I'm planning to buy a LED 3D TV/Plasma 3D TV on the Black Friday. I read very good reviews on Panasonic Plasma 3D TV than an equivalent LED 3D TV. I've not seen a 3D TV yet myself, so myself and my wife decided to go to BestBuy(BB) to check out practically. Even before we went ot BB, I checked couple of my friends and they said I should go for LED and that is the only way and that Plasma is dead and gone soon. We reached BB and went into the 3D center and saw a Sony 60-inch 3D LED TV(don't remember the model # but the cost is close to 4 grand) and Panasonic 54-inch 3d Plasma TV(model # TC-P54VT25 54" 1080p Plasma 3D TV). I told the technician that I wanted to see a 3D demo of the Panasonic Plasma 3D TV. He said the fixed mount 3d glasses are already attached in front of the Panasonic 3d Plasma TV and that I can go and watch the Avatar movie. I watched the movie in 3D and it's exactly like what we watched in the movie theaters and the colors are crisp and the picture quality is superb. My wife then watched it from the fixed mount and she said the 3D quality is superb. I then asked the technician to put the same Avatar 3D movie in the Sony 3D Bluray player attached to the 60-inch Sony 3D TV and asked for 2 pairs of Sony 3D glasses for the Sony 60-inch tv as there was no fixed mount 3D glass in front of the Sony TV. I watched by sitting in the front couch of the Sony TV and found the 3D tv reasonable. The tech asked me to stand up and move sidewards(any side) couple of feet and then there is the ghost image and the loss of the color and 3D effect. I did the same thing on the other side and the same problem existed. Then the tech asked to sit in the middle of the couch(my initial position). He asked me to bend my head any side, again there is the ghost image and the loss of the color and 3D effect. I bent my head the other side and the same problem persisted. Also the 3D quality of Sony is not as good as the Panasonic Plasma TV. At this point I realized that the Pansonic 3D tv has a fixed mount 3D eye glasses in front of it and we are not moving any side and that probably might be the reason for the Pansonic's better 3D picture quality. I immediately asked the tech to bring a pair of Panasonic 3D glasses. He brought them and I wore it now in front of the Panasonic 3D TV with the same Avatar movie playing again. I moved sidewards either side and bent my head either side. The picture was perfect, no ghosting and no change in colors and absolutely the same picture quality as it was when I was standing in front of the fixed mount eye glasess. My wife did exactly what I did and she said she saw the 3D picture without any negative effects. Also the 3D depth in Plasma TV is very natural and the colors are very crisp and this is not the case with Sony LED TV and 3D in Sony looked somewhat artificial. As a last thing, I asked the tech to remove the 3D features and saw the Avatar in 2D mode and it has still superb picture quality with crisp colors. Coming to the price, Plasma 3D TVs are relatively inexpensive compared to comparable LED 3D TVs. The only reason most people are interested in LED TV is it is new technoogy, LED TV is sleek looking whereas Plasma TVs are little bulkier and that's my guess. As I've not seen all the features of this TV, I would give atleast 4 stars to this TV So, my advice to you guys, first go to a store like BestBuy and do some research before deciding which TV is good for you and just do not strike off Plasma in the first place.

5Panasonic Viera TC-P54VT25
By Jay
First, let me state my wife and I work on TV & motion pictures and consequently very particular when it comes to having a good picture and sound. I've studied a variety of large format (50"+) LED LCD & Plasma Flat screens for my living room. I can only equate it to car purchasing experiencing. Like most, I'm a true value shopper. High quality @ a super low price. I researched tons of consumer magazines and online experts including customer comments. It didn't really reconcile the dilemma of too many choices. The old saying, "the more you know, the more you know you don't know" holds true. I'm not as TV Tech savvy as a Best Buy TV salesperson and still felt overwhelmed. That said, I understand LED LCD Edge Lit is the "new rage" and Plasma is "fading fast," but I didn't want to get suckered into purchasing a screen just because thin is in or some "expert" told me this is for you. I was foolish and did just that. I went to Fry's, to buy an LG 55" 9500 3/D for $1,500. A steal considering msrp is $4,999. Of course, it was "limited to stock on hand" and they were completely sold out. I met a very nice Samsung Rep, who was very helpful understanding my needs and came home with a 55" LCD/LED Edge Lit Samsung 7000. My wife took one look and said, "I don't like it." Nuff said. The "value electronics 2010 Shootout" was the most helpful. The judging and review by engineering experts & motion picture professionals backed up their top selections and rated them #1-6 with the specific technical reasons why. The comprehensive coverage of all the major brands will surprise you. Most people, including myself assume #1 would be priced way up there and not really a "consumer value." It's not true. I was leary of an purchasing on-line but Amazon addressed ALL of my concerns and offered a price that was too good to pass up. The TV + 2 pair rechargeable 3D Glasses bundle and new Denon 5.1 amp and along with 4 HDMI4.1 cables savings was ~ $1000.00 from the Samsung (which didn't even make the ratings!) and got the best screen per shootout results! The only issue I have is the TV only has ONE AUDIO OUTPUT. It's not a standard RCA type connector. It's a DIGITAL or OPTICAL AUDIO OUTPUT. For those not familiar with new audio technology, a special light emitting fiber optic audio cable is needed to carry the audio signal to the amplifier. If your amp is far away, it may be a serious issue for because I think digital optical cables stop @~ 20 Ft.We are very happy with our choice. Good Luck!If Picture Quality (pq) means the most to you, then read on...[...]Here are the results; pre is out of the box in THX or movie mode/post is after ISF calibrationWe exposed for the first time the following developments:Joe Kane lent us his personally developed new test disc that has some test patterns that expose flaws never before seen. We had a way to diagnose errors in the color decoding and bit rate limitations of the 8 bit panels as well as incorrect processing to the 8 bit panel. Not only do these anomalies limit the professional calibrator, they also limit the out of box image quality.Bill Schindler demonstrated how plasma technology enjoys the benefit over LCD in 3D of being able to see an additional dimension the consumer can view from any side and enjoy a richer 3D experience, even while laying down. One of Joel Silver's and Kevin Miller's call to action was for higher bit rate panels. Currently all panels are no more than 8 bit and some don't process the full or proper 8 bit signal. Joel was Skyped in on Panasonic 58" VT25 while Kevin and Joel reviewed the .pdf presentation displayed on the other shoot-out panels. Joel showed and explained that Sharp owns 75% and Sony holds the remaining 25% stake in their LCD plant and then discussed Panasonic's new glass manufacturing facilities. Literally almost 1/2 trillion dollars of financial investments in the future of flat panels and great advancements in R&D and the manufacturing processes.DeWayne, aka D-Nice, Kevin Miller and Ed Johnson reviewed and taught us what they look for in various test patterns.Robert Zohn called for a standards to be established, likely by CEA or another standards organization to establish a method of measuring contrast ratio and have all manufacturer's publish only the approved contrast ratio standard. This way consumers can relay on this statistic when shopping. After all, this is the single most important attribute to deliver the best pq 1. Panasonic TC-P58VT25 3D plasma pre/post ISF calibration reportDon't select your next flat panel strictly based on who's in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place as they all almost tied for 2nd Sony has a better picture straight on, but quality goes down rapidly when you move off-angle, some judges rated it #2, but the audiences voted in this order 2. Samsung PN58C8000 3D plasma pre/post ISF calibration report 3. LG 55LX9500 3D LCD/LED Edge Lit pre/post ISF calibration report 4. Sony KDL-55NX810 3D LCD/LED Edge Lit pre/post ISF calibration reportDon't count out the 5th and 6th place as they all almost tied for 3rd and in a few ways had superior attributes When the audiences voted on the best picture quality Panasonic was the unimous winner. Voting on LCD's split the votes between Sony and LG 5. Samsung UN58C8000 3D LCD/LED Precision Edge Lit pre/post ISF calibration 6. Sharp LC-60LE925UN 3D LCD/LED pre/post ISF calibration report

5Beautiful TV with a cool remote
By GKCMilner
I have been using my TV for about 4-days now. I know Amazon has a separate shipping/packaging review area so I won't let what happened reflect on this rating, but I do want to mention that the TV was shipped in the store box with no additional packaging or protection. The first TV arrived with a cracked screen, but Amazon overnighted another TV (packed the same way) and it arrived OK.I bought this TV based on my experience testing one at a local electronics store. I was really impressed with the 3D quality using passive glasses which was a requirement for me (I did not want active shutter); I also really liked the remote. I found it super easy to type in the search fields and to make on-screen selections. It's very accurate and easy to use. And since the TV also has an IR receiver I was also able to add the TV to my Logitech Harmony 880 remote as well.It has taken some time learning how to use all the TV features correctly because the owner's manual is weak, which is probably my biggest complaint. It took me a while to figure out what all the 3D setup options were and what all the selections were for. The on-screen interface is very cool and super easy to navigate; especially with the magic remote. The only thing lacking that I wish it had is Pandora radio. There must be some legal reason because when I use the TVs web browser and go to Pandora.com there is no audio. IN LG SmartTV there are a lot of free apps, including some cool 3D programing.Picture quality is great with plenty of brightness. I was impressed that it was to my liking right out of the box. There is a short setup process when you first turn it on that lets you turn the energy saving feature on/off (I chose off) and if the TV is in a store/home (I chose home). It has no more or less light bleeding than any other LED TV I sampled, and has no light leakage. My Samsung had a more even backlighting, but that is only noticeable when it's a black screen; and seems to be a problem with a lot of LED TVs (all the ones I looked at anyway. One thing I would like to point out is that I seem to get the best 3D experience when the room is completely dark. I normally watch TV with a soft light behind the TV, but I now turn it off when I'm watching 3D. Glare also really impacts the 3D quality. To top all of this off, the TV is one of the most beautiful sets on the market. I replaced a 40" Samsung LCD, and I was worried that this 47" might be too big in the same space; but because it is almost frameless it is only 1" wider (the Samsung had a distracting thick, high gloss frame). It has a sleek modern design with brushed metal accents. The stand is a very heavy plastic with a matching brushed metal finish.All-in-all I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I feel I got a great price and I love the package deal from Amazon that included LG AG-F216 Cinema 3D Glasses Family Pack (6-Pairs) for 2011 LG 3D LED-LCD HDTVs and the LG NB3520A 300W Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer.***UPDATE***After using it a bit more I wanted to add a couple things:The light bleeding I mentioned earlier is only noticible on the initial startup splash screen where the LG logo is on a black background. Once the TV warms up there is almost no noticable light bleed on dark scenes. I am very happy with this. When watching a movie from a flash drive, the play, pause, forward, rewind, buttons on my Harmony remote don't do anything. I have to use the magic remote. We watched the Immortals in 3D and the effects were nothing short of amazing. We are so happy with this TV.***UPDATE 2***If internet access and Apps are important to you, you might be disappointed. To me the LG Smart TV Apps are pretty much worthless. I like Netflix, Amazon VOD, Pandora Radio, iHeart Radio, and Slacker Radio. The only one that this TV has is Netflix (it does work well). The TV has a decent web browser, but when I go to any of the radio websites they block the sound. Navigating Amazon Prime VOD is just a terrible experience and not worth the effort. I will be connecting my Logitech Review back to the TV. Bottom-line: Great hardware, disappointing web connectivity. If this were a 10-star rating system I'd give the TV an 8.5The 3D really impresses.

5Smart, and Easy to Use
By Rex Kullmann
This handsome TV features a thin bezel and modern look, ease of use with attractive menus and very good picture quality.Set UpLike all other flat panel TVs, once you unbox the set, you'll need to assemble and attach the stand. LG's stand seems a little flimsy. There's some give when you touch the TV and the manual gives specific instructions on where you should grab the TV when you pivot it on the stand. I've had no problems, but a more substantial feel would be comforting. When you first turn on the TV, it takes you through a few easy steps to set it up. Pairing with the remote, joining your wi-fi network, choosing your energy saving preferences and the like. My TV also found a software update once it was connected to my wi-fi and prompted me to upgrade. Easy.Performance and The FlawI'm a TV production veteran of many years. I'm really picky about picture quality in some respects, but don't care a bit about some of the things some TV reviewers seem obsessed about. What you can see with test signals isn't very important. What matters, in my humble opinion, is what you are seeing when you sit down to watch. Are you watching the movie or watching how your TV performs? The LG's picture quality is very good, but there's one Flaw that takes me out of the moment and makes me pay attention to the TV.The LG 6700 uses LED edge lighting. It results in splotchy light leaks around the perimeter of the screen. The Flaw is visible during dark scenes and in a darkened viewing room. How bad is it? It's invisible 99% of the time, but when the movie ends and the credits come up, there's those glowing globs around the edges. When the hero goes into the haunted house with a flashlight, there's those ghosts all around him. Turning on the Energy Saver feature, which reduces the backlight when the room is dark, lessens The Flaw somewhat. It's pretty easy to overlook The Flaw since the LG has a great picture otherwise. Good, well saturated color, plenty of contrast and good brightness. 3D performance is stunning. If you want to change something, you'll find every adjustment you can think of in the settings menu. So overall, I rate the LG's picture very good despite The Flaw. This LG is one of the many new TVs that use glossy screens. Glossy screens give a more vivid and colorful picture than non-glossy screens, but at a cost. They are much more reflective. Is a glossy screen for you? Pretend your TV screen is a mirror. If you're sitting on your sofa looking at that mirror, would you see a strong light source, like an unshaded lamp or a window? If so, you'll prefer a TV with a non-glossy screen. This LG's audio performance is mediocre. There is an EQ built-in the settings menu, but using it to boost the bass makes little difference. The speakers just can't reproduce it. While the audio is fine for dialog, I think LG assumes you'll use a sound system if you care about fidelity.3DThe LG uses passive 3D glasses. They produce a good 3D viewing experience and have an advantage over active shutter glasses in that they are much cheaper to buy, don't use batteries, and are universal among brands. Next time you see a Real D 3D movie in the theatre, hang on to your glasses. They work fine with this TV. You get 6 pair of 3D glasses with this LG. Your local Best Buy carries additional glasses from LG and Real D including kid sizes and clip-ons and high-priced premium stylish ones. Here's the part of the review where I expected to dismiss the 2D to 3D feature. The LG, like many new BluRay players, will synthesize 3D from regular 2D content. Darned if it doesn't work pretty well. It's not as good as real 3D, of course, and you probably won't use it that much. (Are you going to start watching CNN in 3D every night?) But for a few choice programs, it's surprisingly good. There's a button on the remote that toggles 3D on and off with one button press. All in all, LG has done everything possible to make 3D simple to enjoy with a minimum of fuss. Push the 3D button, put on the glasses and eat your popcorn.Smart TVThis TV has apps, just like your smart phone. There is no longer a menu where you adjust picture and sound settings. There's an app that does that. There are apps to switch inputs, search for available video you can download, browse the internet, turn 3D on and off, display media from your smart phone or computer, display the user's manual and on and on. 21 apps come preloaded on the LG, and you can download more. Most of those are gateways to other content, including a lot of children's programming. Most are free. You can get to the apps you've installed through the My Apps menu, or through the home screen which also has a "Premium" menu where you'll find Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and more. The "3D World" menu has a number of streamable 3D programs. Most menu screens keep the program you were watching when you entered the home screen boxed in the upper left corner. You can select it to close the menu and return to your program.LG's operating system seems rock solid, but some of the apps are buggy. The internet browser, for instance, seems impressive at first with tabbed browsing and flash installed. But some websites will lock it up, even to the point where it's difficult to make the browser quit. And while flash is present, using it will bring a warning that you're using an old version and it won't be supported for long. Another app, AccuWeather, gave me a face full of error messages when I tried to add Fort Lauderdale to my favorite cities.Still, LG has sent out at least one update since my set was built, so there's reason to believe the bugs will get squished eventually.Media Link allows you--theoretically--to view your computer's media files on the LG's screen. It requires a third party app, Plex, to be installed on your computer. I have a MacBook, and the Apple version of Plex crashed immediately when I launched it. No Media Link for me!The RemoteLG has gone its own way with the remote control. Instead of a wand with a zillion buttons, you get a wand with a few buttons that works like a Wii controller. You wave it in the air to move a cursor on the screen. It's clever, but I have gripes.First of all, the buttons are mostly surfaces flush with the face of the remote. Also, there is no light or glow-in-the-dark lettering on the remote, so when it's dark, you're left to fumble about on a seemingly featureless wand. I don't know how many times I've moved the cursor over the icon I want, then pressed the button only to have the muting come on. That's the button directly below the select button. While you're waving the remote around, it stays on. When you're still for a few seconds, the remote turns off. So if you're perusing the menus and pause to read something, the cursor will disappear and you'll have to shake the remote to get it back. When this happens over and over, it gets annoying. Also, if you take a swig of your drink, then bump the remote when you put down your glass, a big red cursor pops up on the screen to spoil the mood your movie was trying to build. While I struggle with this remote, everyone else in my household like it. Pointing at icons on a big screen is much better for them than searching for the right button on a crowded remote. Ordinarily, I put the original remote away and just use my universal remote. Not this time. Everyone but me wants the LG remote. It stays on the coffee table. But I'm not out of luck.Even though the LG remote is an RF remote, the TV accepts IR signals, so my universal remote will work with it. Well, up to a point. I can navigate using arrow keys, but there is no button to call up the "home" or "My Apps" menu. The upshot is that I'll be able to do all the non-smart functions with the universal remote, but apps and on-line content will require the LG remote. The Bottom LineThe LG is a smart, easy-to-use TV with a lot of really cool features. Picture quality is very good and highly adjustable. Plus it's a handsome piece of hardware with its thin frame and nearly all-glass face. Yes, I have a few gripes, but there were plenty of cool surprises to offset them. Five stars.

4Overall good product, minor flaws
By koty183
I can't say for the speakers on this set (I use an external system and the built in ones have never been used), so other people talking about it being muffled, I can't say. What I can say is the picture quality is wonderful. This TV is light, good quality picture, Passive 3D (big for me), and has no noticeable delay when gaming. Some problems, to get the PQ so good, they went with a glossy screen (seems to be somewhat the norm now) and this causes some reflections, but nothing too bad.The remote took some getting used to, but I have a universal remote if I just need to switch inputs. The remote it comes with is great in my opinion for navigating the menus and store, etc. It does a good job.One minor annoyance, if you move the remote a bit (move the table it's on, drop it, knock it off the couch, etc) it makes the cursor appear for a few seconds. This happened when watching netflix, but nothing too bad.The reason I gave it 4 stars is the netflix and hulu apps work well, but have this weird glitch that would happen every 5 minutes where it looks like it just panics and shows a lot of random cached pixels. 5Bang for the buck! Beautiful picture!
By Breezy
I am impressed! My main TV rig is a LG 55" LED TV for which i paid $1500(It's a beautiful picture.) I purchased the Seiki as a gift and had the pleasure of setting it up at a cost of $320. It's a beautiful picture! 15 minutes done and done. While it's no LG, it doesn't claim to be.Some comments about the remote? It works and I see no issue. They designed their remote differently from every other company most likely because they don't want to be sued by a major player for IP infringement. Samsung vs. Apple? Kodak vs. Apple/RIM? There's enough of that going on. You mean someone has to move their thumb to a new location on the remote to change between inputs? Blasphemy! Haha. Come on folks. Don't be afraid of a little change. You'll adjust accordingly. The picture quality is quite impressive. Remember my daily TV is (in my mind) a flawless picture. The next need I have for an LCD, I will buy this one. First off don't let anyone tell you 60hz is acceptable and only relative the TV industry video standards. Bull. I cannot watch 60hz TVs b/c the response is too low. Action scenes, gaming, or fast changing screens will make the 60hz obvious. I've seen 60hz from LG to Sam to Sceptre. It's all the same. Do yourself a favor and go with 120hz. I turned the 120hz setting on and could immediately see a major improvement over the default picture(which is 60hz).The bezel is slim. Again for the price point you're getting a deal. The slim bez is becoming an industry standard but usually found on the high end sets.Inputs are standard and more than sufficient. The audio is on par with every other lcd on the market. This should not even be considered as a deciding factor for any set. Most people go surround sound anyway and if you don't then you probably don't care about sound anymore than is it on or off.Amazon delivered on point. I had 2 day shipping. It was there in a day. I must say that I was sweating bullets unboxing this TV. After reading reviews I was sure it would be going back due to dead pixels etc. This experience has been flawless. The picture was flawless. There is a 1 year warranty.Amazon backs the products they sell so if you do get a dud, they'll make sure you get a new one. Just remember, regardless of what brand you buy, there is a risk of getting a dead unit.If you're Worry Wonka, do yourself a favor and get an extended warranty for $35 bucks. I wouldn't think twice about buying this set again.

3Shipped with a band of dead pixels and oddly, the wrong remote.
By KindlePad
The pros:Nice image quality, bright, tru motion works well.Audio out of the speakers surprisingly loud & strong.Easy to use menu's for setup.3 HDMI inputs, lots of good audio outThe cons:The first thing I noticed when I powered the TV on was a band (about 5 pixels long) of red / dead pixels. Ouch... Ugly. I can't stop seeing them.It shipped with a Samsung remote - not kidding - and the remote would not control the Seiki HD. I had to use my Logitech remote and program one of the controls modes for this tv in order to get it work. How bizarre.Pretty heavy. The streak of red / dead pixels is sort of a deal breaker. Otherwise a lovely tv,

4This is a keeper
By C. L.
I bought this TV when it's on sale from Amazon. After I ordered it, I saw some negative views, so I tried to cancel the order. Amazon told me it's too late to cancel, in stead they told me I can refuse the delivery and I will get my money back. The UPS guy didn't ring the bell, he left the TV outside. I decided to give this TV a try, what a surprise, the TV is very good! After I hook up the cable and auto scan all the HD channels, the picture is excellent. The remote control is very easy to operate, no problem there. I have a roku box(1080p), works great with this TV.I give 4 star because like someone else mentioned, the HDMI positions(angles) are a bit awkward, but it's not that big deal since after you plug HDMI cables in, how often you take them out? Another small thing is the stand, once you mount the TV on the stand, you can't turn the screen around without lifting the TV.Overall, this is definite a keeper. I am happy I didn't cancel my order successfully.

5Sharp, Clear and Bright!
By Ice
The Samsung UN46ES6580 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz 3D Slim LED HDTV has a phenomenal picture. The picture is bright, clear and sharp. I love this picture! You might find yourself looking at the picture and seeing details in TV programs and DVD's that you have never seen before. The scrolling banners on news programs for instance come in clear and crisp. I have not noticed any motion blurring at all.I use OTA(Over the Air) to receive TV signals. This utilizes just a plain old TV antenna. HD signals are fantastic. SD signals are just OK. The tuner in the TV worked great at picking up stations from my state and my neighboring state. I get lots of stations easily. Plain to upgrade to Comcast TV next week, so I will see what the picture looks like then.I find the controls and menu system to be relatively intuitive. Easy to navigate and you find what you are looking for easily. The remote could be better, but it is not too bad. It would have been nice to have a remote with a small keyboardand mouse pad. Its entirely usable, but not the best for surfing the internet and inputting text for search engines or apps like YouTube, Netflix, and others. There is a better solution. Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400 with Built-In Multi-Touch Touchpad (920-003070) Comes with a USB connector that plugs into back of TV. Great for surfing internet and general navigation through TV menu controls. To set up keyboard, go to MENU, then SYSTEM, over to DEVICE MANAGER, then to KEYBOARD SETTINGS. That's it...It might recognize keyboard automatically after you plug in USB receiver, and you might not have to do those steps however. The TV does come with 4 active 3D glasses. Have not used 3D yet. Also, comes with Skype camera. Have not used this either yet.I find that the video setting of Dynamic is best for me. Also, my wife and I like the sound setting on Movie. There are plenty of settings to adjust picture and sound.Internet works fast and apps seem pretty nice. You can have TV PIP(picture in Picture) when surfing the internet. Nice!Overall, so far, I have not had any problems. If you register your TV on Samsung site, you will get an extra 3 months on your warranty. After thought. I spent over 2 years casually researching TV's. This one has everything that I wanted and hoped for. Went to Sam's Club before buying this one and brought home a 50" LG Plasma for half the price of the Samsung. Of course it was not a Smart TV though. It had 3 bright defective pixels. The LG went right back to Sam's Club the same day. The display model at Sam's had 2 defective pixels. This is just plain inexcusable. That is when I decided to "bite the bullet" and ordered the more expensive Samsung. I do not regret my decision. Also, when I ordered from Amazon, the price was $100 more than what it is now. As the TV was being shipped, Amazon promptly refunded the difference. Good going Amazon. However, I was not happy with the way Amazon shipped the TV. It was by regular UPS delivery. The box had one visible break in it. I expected and wrongly assumed, better packaging. The shipping box was the original box the TV comes in. Should have been doubled boxed with better padding.Other than that, I would recommend this TV if it is within your budget. It really is fantastic...if it lasts.RobertUpdate: Skype camera works well on initial testing. Video and sound quality is good. Skype app has option to automatically login when TV starts, but it seems like it only automatically logins when you actually enter Smart Hub, and not when TV actually starts. Possible Skype app problem. Also, had one occasion when after using some app, that the TV only displayed a pinkishhue. Reset TV by unplugging, and then plugging back in. Have not had any other problems since. Also, there is a firmware update for TV on Samsung website.

3Great picture, when it isn't cloudy
By John Schlarb
** Update: downgraded from 4 stars to 3. The cloudiness is still annoying me; I wish I'd just bought another plasma **This TV has a fantastic picture, until you get to a dark scene. There are visible "clouds" at the edge of my screen when watching letterboxed movies, and when viewing menus on gaming consoles. It almost looks like you're at a drive-in movie with someone shining their headlights on the screen. It's not terrible, but it's enough to be annoying. I should have done more research before buying this TV. Some forum discussions indicate that the 6580 has microdimming, but it doesn't. You'll need to step up to the UN46ES7100 for this.Pros+ WiFi works well for streaming HD (1080p60)+ Samsung store has all the apps I need (Hulu, Vudu, Pandora, Netflix)+ Screen is nice and bright, great for daytime viewing+ Movie and Standard modes have good defaults (Standard needed some tweaking)+ HDMI CEC works great - I can control my Sony BluRay player with it!+ 2D-3D conversion works well, and the remote has a dedicated button for this+ Glasses are comfortable; 3D looks much better than at the theater.+ Uses less energy than a 60-watt bulb+ SD looks "good enough" (but HD looks superb)Cons- LED light leakage is visible in dark scenes, and in letterboxed movies. Great uniformity otherwise.- IR remote backlight is much too dim, and requires pressing the button twice to turn on (why??)- Frame interpolation is enabled by default, and is difficult to find in the menu to turn off. Classic movies looked like soap operas until I figured out how to disable this.- Natural Mode is not natural, and Dynamic mode is unusable for me.- Adjusting Picture settings takes several remote clicks; IR remote should have a dedicated button for this- 1 hot pixel in my sample; not visible from my viewing position

5Best TV Ever
By L. Alquist
My wife and I bought this Samsung TV to replace an older one in our home. We have a 44" Samsung in our 5th wheel camper and really enjoyed the picture clarity, so that's what influenced our decision on this Samsung. From the moment I turned it on, I could not believe the picture. This TV has it all. Plus the 3D is fa-nominal. If you order from Amazon, they ship it free, no sales tax and the shipping company un-crates it and sets it up for you at no charge. Of course I gave the guys a $20. as a tip though. All in all, so far we're very pleased with our decision.

1Buy Something Else....
By K. Miller
On short notice I had to replace a very nice Samsung 26" LCD HDTV. My space required nothing wider than 28"...so I was limited in choices...and shut out of the most common 1080p 32" units available.I purchased the 29" LG LED TV.Pros: It is cheap at around $300. It fit the space I had...the TV was 26.3" wide. The "pros" end there.Cons: The screen resolution is worse than you would expect from a 720p resolution on satellite (DirecTV).The picture adjustments, although aided by a nice on-screen app, are clumsy. The results from the app make you want to try it yourself for color and contrast balance. The instructions and documentation are very poor. I called Amazon tech support, which provides 30 days of free advice on this unit. Even they had no documentation for the unit. The component inputs and outputs are very bare bones. In fact, the unit provides NO AUDIO ANALOG output. Therefore, you can forget about piping this into your media center receiver. The downside of this is that the speakers on the TV are subpar...so you better be using this in a small room.Compared to the 8 year old Samsung I was replacing, the interfaces available on this LG were primordial. Did I mention it was CHEAP?The stand is not adjustable, so that if you need to center the unit in a media cabinet, you just need to stack up some books. The overall styling is very generic...Over all, if you have time to consider other units, do so. There is no reason to waste time on a unit like the LG when better 1080p units should be available soon in this size (29") class.Amazon gladly offered to take the unit back, but had no replacements in the size range. Maybe its time to turn off the tube and do some reading.
