5Great Little TV!
By cc58
I have had this TV for almost a month and am completely satisfied with the performance. It is compact, thin and easy to set up--just follow the instructions on the screen after you have turned it on. The color was a little "washed out." I went into the color adjustment option and "tweaked" it a little. There is a protocol during the set-up that helps you select the color reception, however it proved not to be what I really wanted, so I did it manually. Now it is clear, sharp and very natural looking. I also adjusted the sound quality the same way. I feel this TV will rank with any more expensive Sony or Panasonic for quality and reception. If you are looking for a excellent, small 22" for the kitchen or bedroom, this is a keeper. The only problem, and it is a minor one, was during the "auto-scan" process to search for TV stations. It warns that it could take as much as 20 minutes--and it did. I had to do this three times since it turned itself off after about 15 minutes twice before completing the scan. It could have been my cable supplier, but don't worry. Be patient and all will be terrific.

5Great buy, fabulous Philips 22-inch LED LCD HDTV
By T. K. Fowler
I tried going for a smaller widescreen than everyone said I "had to have," and am I pleased! I suspected that since this is my first widescreen, and since I've been getting by on a 13-inch square since my 20-inch square TV went kaput, that a 22-inch Philips would seem like a huge step up. And does it ever. The picture is so sharp that I don't need a bigger screen in my little cottage -- certainly not until my upstairs 13-inch gasps its last. I can read the newscrawlers, subtitles and sports scores. The color is gorgeous, and I haven't even taken time to superfine tune it. The TV arrived days early from amazon.com yesterday afternoon, Free Super Saver Shipping, and I started setting it up this morning. Just then "Goodbye, Mr. Chips" came on Turner Classic Movies, and I hadn't seen it before, and wanted to, but I plunged ahead, watching while I looked at the Quick Start. I unplugged the old and was back watching the movie again before intermission. This HDTV has all the hoolymajiggits to hook up your PC, your video camera, your computer games, and I don't know what all, but being a film fan, all I have is a Magnavox DVD-VHS player, and that hooks up just fine. The remote operates intuitively, and I can move through the menu likewise without reading the manual. I just couldn't possibly be more pleased, especially since I've long depended upon the quality of Philips and Magnavox. Just after Christmas there were 22 of these sets, and they sold out before I could make a move. I let amazon.com know I was sold on the set, but couldn't buy in time. I was so sold that I was thinking of buying the same TV in the 32-inch if I couldn't get the 22. But true to form, amazon.com came through with more 22-inch Philips 720p LED LCD HDTV, Black. I bought one, it's here, and it's up and running, just like that, after weeks of checking availability. I actually think the 32-inch might be too big for my cottage as it is for my budget right now. My TV stands atop the entertainment tower for my component stereo system (remember those?) and it can face forward to the living room, or turn toward the adjacent bedroom (fishing village architecture). It's a very big picture either way. What I like about the Surround Sound is that a lower level is adequate because it's not all coming from one back speaker. No more blaring that makes my Chinese Shar-Pei rub her ears. I'm happy, happy, happy, and so is she. I won't be needing the free return, but in this neck of the woods, I'm grateful amazon.com offers it. Thank you, thank you, amazon.com.

3Good and Bad
By EG Whitman
Not being a techno wizard I needed to replace the old analog TV as it was giving up on us. A little researce and going by other reccomendations I selected this TV. It was as advertised with one exception. Ease of set up and picture were near perfect. Only complaint I have is the sound quality, VERY poor. Even after going thru the equlaizer set up and selecting type of entertainment to view .ie . movie, news, music etc all sounds as if it were emminating from a tin can. I am currently looking for an external speaker option.

4Great TV!
By Mark Druziak
I picked up this Sansui 40" during a Black Friday sale. I had the opportunity to quickly compare this the Sansui 40" to a few other 40" TVs in the store before I purchased it. The image quality was very similar to the Samsung and Sony TVs that were sitting on either side of it. At the low Black Friday price, buying this TV was a no brainer.I can't really find anything wrong with this TV. This is a good basic TV.

3Nice HD, poor SD
By M. Gallina
Bought this Tv at a can't beat it price of $299 on Black Friday so we really wanted this to work out. Unfortunately, no matter how much we tinker with the controls or what setting we use the picture in SD is not natural. The colors are just too bright and inconsistent from channel to channel. On the positive side, the HD picture is gorgeous.. we have it connected through our cable DVR. Believe it has an HD Tuner so may not even need it to get HD. The sound, often a problem in these TVs, is solid and clear in our midsize living room without having to turn it up all the way.Reluctantly, we've decided to return the TV because of the standard picture (people too pink or too pale is just annoying!) Getting a 37" Panasonic instead.

3Not bad for a starter tv @$300, BJs TG sale
By kalidasa
I was looking for my first LCD tv under 300 and bought this during TG at BJs for $300.I have had the viewing pleasure of SONY Bravia XBR 46 and another Bravia LED 55 inches. Honestly, I dont understand the technical details of the tvs nor tell the difference. However, the options with the remote are limited. There is no back button on the remote to come back to the previous screen The automatic channel selection feature sucks(ie if you have no set top box with the comcast remote). Luckily, there is 1 recall button to go back to the last channel you were onPlease note, i have comcast(extended basic package) coaxial cable to my living room and no set top box room(it is in a differnt room). So, I am stuck with the tv remote and options provided for searching channels on them. This TV does not find all the analog channels like the SONY Bravia XBR 46 did and am left with around 30-40 out of the nearly 100 channels i can still see on the tube tv.overall, its not bad, probably with the HD package, it may even look nice.

5Love My Samsung!
By ThisIsMyPenName
I picked up the Samsung 51" D550 from Sears on the 12th. I'd only discovered the TV online a couple hours before buying it. Always wanted a Samsung and once I saw it in the store, I was sold. Had to have it.Received a pair [2] of Samsung's new 3100 3D glasses. [Will write a separate review for those.] Beware, this TV is HUGE. I swear, it didn't look this big in the store.Picture Quality is outstanding. Break-in isn't necessary. I ran slides for a day before using the TV regularly. No IR at all. Blacks are deep and rich, Colors are rich and life-like. I haven't had it professionally calibrated, just using settings I've found on the AVS forum and tweaking them to my likes.Settings are very, very customizable. SD programs are good. Soft at times but very watchable. Of course, HD/Blu-Ray/DVD content is out of this world. Audio is surprisingly excellent. Very clear and loud. I rarely go up above 11.Also no buzzing. I heard a slight noise when I set the picture settings to Dynamic but it isn't an issue since I won't be using. [That setting is too bright and saturated for my tastes.]3D is also great. I don't really have much experience in this area since this is my first 3D TV. There was no ghosting, trailing, or halo-effect. Same for the 2D to 3D conversion. I watched Avatar converted and the actual Tron: Legacy 3D blu-ray and both films look great. For anyone who loves the "Soap Opera" effect, Cinema Smooth works great. I love the effect so I've left it on.Overall, it's a great TV. Very happy with the purchase it. Great plasma. Lush colors, Deep Blacks, 3D, and great SD/HD quality.

5The best you can get for under a grand
By Gooner4Ever
I was in the market to upgrade from a 37" LCD and after much deliberation, soul searching, and navel gazing I decided that the PN51D550's size and features were too good to pass up. I'm not really a 3D kinda guy but I have two young kids so the inclusion of that particular bell and whistle was non-negotiable. Considering that Amazon had it for around $950.00 including shipping, well that was just too good to pass up. Log into the account, whip out the credit card, light a novena candle to ensure safe shipping and hope for the best (and it shipped just fine.)So far I've had this machine for about a week and I must say I've been relieved and ecstatic at my decision. I'm about fifty hours into breaking in the thing (I know, I know, unnecessary perhaps but I'd much rather err on the side of caution) and it's been a love affair from the get go. Like most HDTV's, watching stuff in standard def isn't pretty but it's passable. The real beauty comes when watching stuff in HD, when everything just comes alive. Blacks are inky, reds are redder than Lenin, and the images are clean enough to eat off of. If you've ever wanted to count the lines on Gordon Ramsay's face you've come to the right TV.Because I'm still doing break in, I haven't watched any BluRays on it yet, but I'll edit my review once I get around to doing that. I also can't comment on the TV's native audio quality because I have this hooked up to a receiver, which I'd highly recommend for anyone in the market for one of these. These sets were made to be complemented by 5.1, 7.1, or 7.2 channel systems. If you are planning on doing the receiver thing, just remember that this particular model does NOT support the ARC function so you'll need an optical audio cable as well as an HDMI cable when hooking up.EDIT, 7/16: After sheepishly remembering that BluRays with a 1.85:1 aspect ratio won't show black bars I tested out a few and the results were mesmerizing. The blacks on THE DARK KNIGHT were obsidian, as they were on TRON:LEGACY but alternately the vivid whites, oranges, reds, and yellows on that film were exceptionally vivid and incandescent. I also played a few laps of GRAN TURISMO through a PS3 and it was an out of body experience. It was like the textbook definition of every color being displayed, and with no visible lag whatsoever. Astonishing. I'm coming close to the 100 hour point and I can't wait to check out 2.35:1 stuff.I don't believe in giving out calibration settings because I believe that no two TVs, and more crucially, no two TV owners are going to see the exact same thing the exact same way but I will say that once you put the PN51D550 in Movie mode about 95% of the calibration is done, at least to my peepers.Regarding issues of buzzing, I've haven't heard any emanating from my set. I keep the set's volume at zero and let my receiver handle the audio but even when I have to rely on the set's native audio (like when I play the Wii) I hear no buzzing. Either I'm one of the lucky ones or my hearing is even worse than I thought it was.Another issue I've read about the PN series revolve around brightness pops, or fluctuations, that occur, especially when watching darker scenes. I have noticed these on occasion but they tend not to bother me. You have to have a sharp eye to notice them for they usually last for a split second before the set self corrects. When watching movies famous for their dark cinematography, like THE DARK KNIGHT or BLADE RUNNER, I've noticed maybe five or six brightness pops each viewing. Not nearly enough to bother me nor to inspire a brightness pops drinking game.As for glare, yeah, it's there. You might want to consider in advance where you're going to place this baby because in the middle of a sunny day with the blinds and drapes open this thing does a killer impression of a mirror. I've found though that when I sit off to the side a bit (and this TV has an amazing viewing range, like most plasmas) the glare is much less noticeable. When you're viewing at night and don't want to sit in complete darkness, consider placing your lamps either to the side or slightly behind the set to avoid or reduce glare. All told, I can't think of another major name brand TV that brings together the best combination of size, features, and quality for under $1,000. At this (admittedly early) stage, I can honestly say that this is the best TV I've ever had the pleasure of owning.SON OF EDIT, 9/15: After two and a half months, I'm still smitten. A couple more thoughts to share:1. I cannot stress enough the importance of a break in period so all those cute little plasmites can burn evenly. I was watching the special features on the TAXI DRIVER blu ray when I stupidly fell asleep during one of the Scorcese interviews (you know you're REALLY tired if you can fall asleep to him talking.) Of course after the interview ends, the disc goes back to the main menu which has bright yellow cursive graphics all over the place. Two hours later I woke up, ejected the disc, turned off the PS3, and found some faint burn in on the blank, black screen. After smacking my forehead in self punishment, I immediately turned on an HD movie channel and let THE RING run for about five minutes. When I turned the box off to check on the screen, voila!, burn in gone. A little preparation goes a long way.2. SD content looks a bit better now, though it's obviously no match for blu rays or 720p, or those rare 1080p, broadcasts. Watching stuff on channels like Antenna TV or TV Land is a lot less messier than it was when the TV was right out of the box. If have streaming services like Netflix or Hulu+ the quality varies. Newer content, especially on Hulu+ looks and sounds outstanding, but older, grainier Netflix content looks appropriately disastrous. Well mastered DVDs played through a PS3 look terrific.I'm still insanely happy with this set. Not for nothing do I refer to it as The Third Child.

5Great 3D TV for the money!
By Shoe
After doing extensive research, my wife and I decided on this TV. For under $1k, it was one of the cheapest 3D plasma on the market from a reputtable company. It also has cheaper 3D glasses as well compare to others. While most 3D glasses costs around $150 per pair, it was only $50 per pair for this Samsung from Amazon or other retailers. We have watched regular 2D movies to 3D and everything is great! It even does a great job of converting regular 2D movies/shows into 3D. I could not have asked for a better TV at this price. One feature that I really love about this TV is that it has an anti-burn program which prevents burn in. I did not know that this TV had this feature until after I bought it which is big plus since I sometimes play a little video game with the PS3. Another really nice feature is that it will automatically detect when you have a 3D signal and change the screen to the 3D setting. It will also send a signal to the glasses allowing them to be turned on. In fact the feature is so great that you will not even be able to turn on the glasses until a 3D signal is available. A very good feature with the 3D glasses for this TV is that it will automatically shut off after 30 seconds of not receiving a 3D signal so you do not run the battery down. The TV will also convert 3D to 2D if you get tired of 3D viewing. My only warning is that if you will be putting the TV in a room with a lot of light, you will get a lot of glare due to the glass screen. For a brighter room, you may/will want to go with an LCD. If you are planning for using it in a dark room, this TV will knock your socks off. The colors are some much more vibrant compare to an LCD with the same signal and resolution. I have an LG LCD 1080P which has a great picture but this plasma blows it away with how rich and vibrant the colors are.Things to remember if you are planning on watching 3D Blu-Ray movies with this TV:-3D capable Blu-Ray player like a PS3-HDMI cable (go with the best you can afford that can send 3D signals/data)-3D glasses (you will need one pair per person)

4A consumer's take on upgrading to 3D, 55', and LED
By richfallatjr
My first and only flat-screen was a 40' Samsung LN40A550P3F before purchasing the 55' Sony Bravia HX750. The reviews were pretty lacking so I've decided to make this review detailed as possible from a consumer's point of view. The main features that sold me on this set was the 55' size, 3D capability, picture quality, and built in Wi-Fi. Three lived up to and surpassed expectations while one is a disappointment.Size upgrade makes a world of difference but hinders streaming experienceThe 55 inch HX750 dwarfs the old 40 inch Samsung. The television doubles as living room PC monitor and I was constantly having to squint and crank up the font sizes in order to read while sitting on the couch. The 55 inch screen size allows me to sit back and relax with a wireless keyboard as if I'm seated at the desk.Blurays look phenomenal on the large screen and bigger is better when it comes to immersing yourself in the 3D experience. I recently axed cable from our household as I was beginning to believe HD streaming was providing good enough quality to watch on the big screen. However, the artifacts present in the compressed streaming video is magnified greatly. Pixelation and banding that was only slightly visible on the 40 inch Samsung is now a distraction while watching on the large 55 inch screen. While watching on the larger screen makes for a cinematic experience, it also exposes flaws of streaming video compression. Looks like I'll be switching back to multiple Netflix rentals, Redbox, and Cable if boosting my internet bandwidth doesn't improve streaming quality. Is this 3D thing going to die fast?I've watched several movies in the theater and thought 3D added to the experience. I had my doubts an in-home television could deliver experiences anywhere close to cinema quality. I also purchased the Sony 3D Bundle/Narnia Glasses (wish glasses were included for the price).I popped in "Chronicles of Narnia Legend of the Dawn Treader", A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (Two-Disc Blu-ray 3D / Blu-ray / DVD / UltraViolet Digital Copy), and Batman: Arkham City for Playstation 3.Playing my fist video game in 3D was like listening to a CD for the first time. The Narnia movie, something I normally wouldn't give a chance, had me completely immersed. The imagery looked beautiful, added so much punch, I never wanted to take my eyes off the screen. One of the drawback of young technology is there are barely any titles available. Was really disappointed that I couldn't purchase Avatar 3D without buying a Panasonic BD player.Another surprise was the Simulated 3D setting that tries to emulate the stereo depth on normal footage. While not perfect, or anywhere close to a 3D movie, the Simulated 3D added pop to the picture. I actually preferred wearing glasses, because the colors on the Standard setting looked more natural. It also helped to direct the eye to focal points, especially when shallow depth of field was utilized.I don't believe 3D is going away folks so "adapt or die" (quote stolen from "Moneyball" which looked great on the HX750)AudioCan't complain, sounds great in comparison to the old Samsung which has mediocre sound quality. Was really loud with the bar cranked a little over half way.Picture QualityOverall I believe the picture looks great with a couple of tweaks from the default settings. One of the first things I did was disabled the Motion Flow and Cinema Flow settings. The 240Hz frame interpolation gag that i am not a big fan of. Colors are vibrant and the image is sharp.Since this is an LED, there is some visible light vignetting around the corners and a light leak running along the bottom of the frame. It's most noticeable while watching in a dark room. I'm not sure if this issue creeps up in plasmas or higher end LED models, but it's definitely not a plus. I can live with it though. Default `Standard' color calibrated for 3DI was really on the fence about buying the HX750 given the reviews on extremely poor black-levels. Now, I am no expert when it comes to judging picture quality, but here is my take.On many of the low-lit scenes, dark areas do appear lifted and have a bluish magenta cast over it. However, there are still deep black to be found. I've noticed throughout viewing and on certain end title sequences, the blacks almost match the surrounding frame. It seems to me that the values are gamma'd up, essentially crushing the dark shadow valued details. Anything that isn't quite pure black. This is problematic because it's somewhat of a golden rule in color correction not to go complete 0 black.3D glasses alleviate black level and magenta cast issuesIt's my impression that Sony decided to calibrate the default color to look best while the glasses are on. I'm viewing through 3D Active Glasses. When powered up, the overall picture value gets knocked down around a full stop, making the `darks' richer. Also, the bluish magenta color is completely neutralized.Considering the fact Sony has so much invested in Blu Ray and 3D televisions, it only makes sense that they would tailor the best experience to that viewing mode. People love the 3D, they tell their friends, and their friends buy a Sony 3D TV.What I didn't like so much Apps and Wi-FiNetflix, Amazon On-Demand, Hulu, Youtube, and more. These pre-installed apps were a draw when shopping for a new flatscreen, and I was in particularly excited that the HX750 included built in Wi-Fi and Youtube. Most of the Apps are contained in a Sony wrapper layout design and look very similar. No flashy animations like competitors (even under the same brand) much more utilitarian.Sadly, these are lacking implementations of Netflix, Amazon, Twitter, and Youtube. Really scratching my head as to why they didn't employ similar navigation and style the PS3 counterparts. I assume it was to unify the apps more, but it is much less intuitive, and makes for a somewhat painful user experience.Observations of AppsNetflix No ratings displayed by media icons Cannot rate media No search memory or smart searchAmazon On Demand No watch recently list (huge bummer) No search memory or smart searchYoutube Subscriptions buried in menu Subscription pages don't always display with latest first (really?) I like how videos play in small view while searchingSlacker Cannot log into existing accountsFacebook Not bad but the layout is a bit wasteful. Only displays a few posts.Twitter Cannot follow linksWi-Fi signal is slower than other devicesMy current setup includes the HX750 on a wall mount, PS3, and a Dell PC all within a couple feet of one and other. The speed of the connection on the HX750 is about 1/4 to 1/2 that of the other devices. The internet speed of my ISP is anywhere from 6.5-10 Mbps. Also, the entertainment center is a pretty far distance from the router. Not a racehorse setup by any stretch, but streaming video content on the Sony HX750 is UNWATCHABLE 9 times out of 10 with long and constant loading icons or Network Timeout errors. What adds to the aggravation, is it completely freezes if one attempts to navigate away from the `loading' page. Controller button clicks will not respond until the internet searching finally errors out or finishes thinking.Other devices in the vicinity work fine and load HD most of the time. I'm wondering if there is a hardware issue or if the mount is somehow blocking the internal antennae, but I doubt that. It would be such a pain to box this big thing up and return it because of bad Wi-Fi connection issues, and considering I already have the PC and PS3 connected, it might not be completely necessary. I will wait to see if others are having similar issues and contact Technical Support before lugging it back to the store. Also, plan to upgrade ISP to FIOS and will update if this helps the issues.Let's hope Sony corrects the App and Wi-Fi issues via firmware updates because it would be a shame releasing unpolished extras in a device that costs around $2000. Especially when similar applications already have a strong foundation on the PS3. Dealing with anything Wi-Fi related on the HX750, reminds me of working on a 5 year old computer that doesn't quite have the juice to keep up with the technology. However, I'll withhold judgement until I see it operate with faster internet. For more reviews like this or if you have any questions visit www.richfallatjr.com

1Faulty t.v., poor response from Sony
By JDo
Well, we bought this t.v. in early April and by the end of May, it stopped working. It was wonderful when it worked, but died within 2 months. Quick calls to Sony revealed this is a common problem they're having with this t.v. and they said we need to replace the circuit board. We waited a couple days before a person from their local service facility called. That person informed us they didn't have the board in-stock and it would be 4-7 days. Well, we're still waiting. They have not been in-touch, we don't know what the hold up is. We have to chase them constantly to find out what's going on. Meanwhile, our t.v. still doesn't work. (When we try to turn it on, it goes immediately to standby mode.) Soooo disappointed that we shelled out this kind of money for a t.v. that is faulty and Sony isn't particularly motivated to get us up and running again.

5Sony rules
By Ron F
You are not going to get a MIT review from me. I waited for a few months for the release and then purchased the 55 inch when it became available. All I did was plug in the TV without making one adjustment. Every friend that watches this TV with me rates it a 5. The 3D is perfect for the living room - don't expect IMAX 3D. The TV is now $200 cheaper to buy and I really don't care because I am more than pleased with the quality. HD viewing on this TV is fantastic. The picture on some of my weekly episodes is so clear that it appears you are sitting next to the actors. It is a very strange experience to describe because the picture is so amazing. For the price, pony up - you won't be sorry.P.S. Bought TV from Amazon. Not one complaint. The delivery guys setup the TV and took the box with them. Also bought the 4 year warranty because of my past experiences with other TVs.

4Sony KDL 32bx320
By RBT778
This base grade 2011 model does all that is expected at this price point and resolution. Very clear picture with just a hint of graying in the black areas. The 5.1 audio out is great for older style A/V receivers that don't handle HDMI input. One digital audio (toslink) cable from the tv handles all audio to the receiver that was input to the tv via HDMI. Easy set up but swivel base would have been nice. One piece of deceptive advertising is the PIP funtion. Only available if you are in PC mode. Don't expect to get PIP from two sources unless one is main screen PC. The matte screen handles reflected light well and the glare from the frame is bearable. Very little motion blurring at this screen size with 60hz response and back lit flourescent versus LED isn't worth the extra money. Good solid buy at this price.

5Awesome
By R. Kavuri
This Sony HDTV provides unbelievable options for picture selection and audio selection. The modes are pre-calibrated by Sony and I just love the various scene selection options, I just need to switch between the various modes based on the need (I just use the Game Mode and Movie Mode).I notice a lot of people complaining about the sound in their HDTV. I like the audio output on this Sony HDTV compared to the Samsung C350 that I owned before this one.Additionally, the remote has the option to control other HDMI output devices such as a blu ray player or a PS3. You can also connect a USB device to this HDTV and play songs or photos.I was not too impressed initially by the picture output but later realized that dullness in the picture was due to the light sensor, once I turned it off everything looks picture perfect. This is a 2011 model, and I guess there is no Sony HDTV that would provide you all these options for this price range.

5Superior TV
By 70's_Rule
I've purchased and returned 2 LCD TVs: a Samsung 40" LCD in 2008, and a Panasonic VIERA 32" LCD just a few weeks ago. Both of these seemed to be good TVs, but IMHO the Sony Bravia blows them both away, especially considering that Amazon's price is significantly cheaper vs the others. The set-up was very fast and simple. I used the enclosed TV stand for my Bravia and it took less than 5 minutes to assemble. The TV is extremely stable on the base, even a little more so than the Panasonic. I had no qualms about setting it on top of a small, sturdy dresser to get some height for better viewing. The only snags I encountered at all were with setting up the HDMI interfaces between my Lenovo laptop computer and Panasonic DVD player/recorder. At first the picture quality was marginal, but I think the HDMI settings must take some time to sort out. The TV seems to be smart enough to eventually get everything set, and the laptop's external viewer settings did identify the Sony television and once that was done, I could make some changes to the view settings to get what I wanted. (When I changed from the PC HDMI input to another source and back, the Panasonic TV wouldn't show the computer input and I'd often have to reboot the computer to get it to show right.) So, patience is required to get your view settings as desired, but this TV can handle just about any preference! It's possible the Panasonic might have had a slightly "crisper" picture and less darkening effects with some movies, etc. But I just turned up the backlight on the Sony and no more worries. The sound on the Sony, however, is superior IMHO.PROS:Excellent remote control with logical labels. ALL the buttons serve a useful purpose and their purposes can be learned intuitively and quickly through use.Ease of changing viewing width/angles to accommodate quality of source signal, on the rare occasion the TV didn't get it right the first time.Great sound quality and functions - RCA out jacks are critical!Video motion seemed very smooth - I have ear/balance/migraine issues and even so I didn't get a nauseated/dizzy feeling as much as I did with the Panasonic or Samsung (though the Sam's screen was too big for the room).Current price at Amazon - $358.99?!CONS:Dark/night scenes in movies could be a little "too dark" unless the backlight was increased. I suppose this might shorten the life of the TV, but I don't think it's necessary to do this except for certain programming.Like most LCD TVs in this price range, the internal speakers are marginal. I'm currently looking for a cheap external audio solution (e.g., higher-end self-powered computer speakers with an adapter to the RCA out jacks)This is a safe investment in a quality, solid TV - the cheaper TV models weren't "enough cheaper" to warrant taking the risk. For a bedroom or small living room the SONY Bravia LCD 32" is simply unbeatable for the price.

5Awesome TV if the right picture setting are used & here they are
By CrazyShopper918
Use the picture settings in my Review listed at the end and the Samsung un55d7000 will look awesome. First off I notice major black light bleed out of the box & even after tweaking the TV on my own until I found the right settings from a other users. What I really like about this tv is that my playstation 3 is synced with the tv. My tv come's on when the playstation is turned on and I can control my ps3 with my Samsung remote nice feature. The tv is nice a thin not very heavy. The 2d to 3d conversion is total crap some stuff looks good but for the most part it's a BIG gimmick. Movies & stuff filmed in 3D look amazing sometimes it's a hit & miss. So far my favorite 3d movies are : ( Monsters Vs Aliens ) ( avatar ) ( Despicable me ) Resident evil looked like crap & I really didn't like monster house. I am hoping the studios will improve 3D filming and make live action films pop out more. I tried some playstation 3 games in 3d I like the idea but WoW it really makes your eyes hurt after awhile.Setting up the tv was pretty easy I did found setting up the wireless on the Tv to be a real pain. I am pretty good with computers and wireless network it was still a pain. I have a netgear router and I was not able to link it with normal settings the tv kept saying my pass word was wrong password ended up doing the button method on my router and samsung tv. Right away the Tv found the router and no more issues. Now for the calibration settings that will make your set look amazing and reduce the famous Samsung clouding issue and black light bleeding which I couldn't stand until this ! Make sure you have a hdmi 1.4 cable I did notice a issue with my old hdmi cable and the 1.4 cable solved the slow lag, any cheap one will do as long as it's 1.4PICTUREPicture Mode MovieBacklight 8 (3D: 11)Contrast 92Brightness 48Sharpness 15Color 50Tint 50/50ADVANCEDBlack Tone OffDynamic Contrast OffShadow Detail 0Gamma 0Color Space CustomFlesh Tone 0Edge Enhancement OffMotion Lighting Off <<<< THIS IS WHAT CAUSES CLOUDING I THINKxvYCC OffLed Motion Plus OffPICTURE OPTIONSColour Tone Warm2Digital Noise Filter OffMpeg Noise Filter OffHDMI Black level LowFilm Mode n/aMotion Plus Clear R G BColour Space Red 58 2 0Colour Space Green 0 58 9Colour Space Blue 7 0 54Colour Space Yellow 48 53 7Colour Space Cyan 0 54 58Colour Space Magenta 56 4 45R-Offset 20G-Offset 24B-Offset 24R-Gain 19G-Gain 26B-Gain 25 R G B1 5 1 -22 2 0 -13 0 0 -14 -2 -3 -35 0 -2 -36 1 1 -47 2 3 08 1 2 09 -1 2 210 0 1 1Make sure you select each color in the color space and enter them like above. If you don't like the setting simple reset your picture but honestly you will notice a HUGE difference right away with just these settings.

4Backlight bleeding - Not an expert review but will help you a lot
By Ricardo Villamar Pazmino
I'm going to cut down to the chase. The TV has so many good features (especially design) that are too many to list, thus, I will focus on the two things I have encountered that I know someone else might have experienced or will experience and are rather disappointing...but don't lose your hopes just yet!1) Backlight bleeding - My TV came set up for 'store' usage mode, instead for 'home', which increases the bleeding drastically.Changing to 'home' is quite challenging so you have to read the manual. After I changed the usage mode to 'home', it decreased considerably but was still noticeable.I visited some forums, websites, and some even advised to put pressure on the screen with my fingers (until I see the screen changing colors), etc, but nothing seemed to work.I decided to contact Samsung support and they advised me to change PICTURE MODE to 'STANDARD' and adjust the 'BACKLIGHT' to the value of '7'. The support guy/girl mentioned to leave this setting on for 3 weeks. After the three weeks, I should be able to change to any picture mode and to any value for the backlight. Finally, it was mentioned that if I did not see any changes, that a service ticket needs to be placed at this link (you will need to register your TV with Samsung): [...]I made the change today 4/15/2011 so I will wright another review within 3 weeks to let you know the end results.2) Sound stops working - I only have a PS3 and a DirecTV satellite box connected to the TV via HDMI cables (hight speed and 3D capable). I have noticed the TV produces no sound for like 1 second and then gradually comes back at a lower volume until it reaches the original volume. I have also noticed it only happens when the picture is set to 'STANDARD' and have only noticed it when the source is the DirecTV box.I do not run the PS3 on standard mode so I can't compare, but I will do so and pay attention to the results. In summary, I have to wait for the 3 weeks picture test, and also test the sound using the PS3 source on standard mode.I know it's a hassle but for a TV that costs over $2000, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get a "perfect" picture and normal working sound (although you would not expect to do this since you are paying a lot of money)...And if you got this TV from Paul'sTV (whether by Amazon's reseller program or directly from them) expect to pay 15% restocking fee and $100 shipping if you plan to return it.Hope this helps and please post any questions/comments you may have, and I will try to answer them as soon as possible.

3Great TV... If there is no flaw.
By N.A
I just got the TV in today, and from I experience so far is that this TV is amazing.Black level is great! One of the best I seen so far.Internet connection is great on the TV. Very useful for watching Netflix. The qwerty remotes that came with my TV is very useful for web browsing, but don't expect the browser to be like normal computer browser because it is very bad, slow, hard to navigate, and cumbersome. For gaming, in my opinion, there is no lag if you turn off the picture enhancements options, and also turning on the game mode. I would say the lag on the TV would be probably somewhere between 30-50ms.3D is great! I watched Shrek 3D, and it's just stunning. A major improvement from last year model. I probably will buy Tron 3D, and see it on the TV soon.Cons: HDMI input is located on the side. Clouding & Flashlighting that can be seen in dark screen.Update: After 2 weeks of having the TV I noticed some flash lighting / clouding that can be seen in pitch black room. Not a big deal at first, but overtime I am starting to be annoyed by it. I am thinking of getting it exchange for higher end model. Therefore I am rating the TV 3/5 stars. If would be a solid 5 stars if there is no flaw.Update 2: Returned my set and bought 46" Sony HX929.
