The Wireless causes the picture to delay for at least 180ms, your surround reciever needs to be able to delay or it will look like a bad synch'ed movie. Not any good for Wii or PS3, the wireless does break up once i a while, but there is no cable mess at all. I will return this TV and get another with long HDMI cables.

Shame on them for not plastering across the box of this unit in big red letters "CANNOT BE USED FOR ANYTHING BUT TV AND DVD!!!!!" The delay between the wireless box and the screen makes playing video games impossible and using the set with a computer in a business environment for things like powerpoint presentations a major annoyance. Why even release the thing until you have sufficient technology to fix this problem? We aren't THAT desperate for a wireless plasma! These days, even an elderly couple who would never in a million years consider playing a video game on their TV needs to take this into consideration because their grandkids will likely be coming over for the weekenend with their Nintendo Wii. What if they don't find out until a year or so after they purchase it? What a bummer! Like I said, shame on Samsung. This set will really be a letdown to a lot of people at some point during their ownership.

The wireless system creates a delay that makes this TV unsuitable for use with video games. I have both a Nintendo Wii and a computer hooked up to the TV. With both, there is a noticeable and significant onscreen delay. If you simply want to watch television, this product is fine. However, if you want to use it for games, select another TV, you will be disappointed with this one.

This review is a little long winded. Skip to the bottom for just the pros and cons. Or, keep reading to waste 10 minutes of your life.Over the last 5 years, I have been using a 58" Panasonic Plasma TV. Not a bad TV, but not the greatest either. It was only 1080i, it got hot pretty fast (which made the room hot and the air condition kick on too often), and the dimensions were weird (I looked at entertainment centers that should fit a 60" TV, but the TV still wouldn't fit.). I felt an upgrade was in order.I'll have to admit, shopping for a TV was pretty fun. A lot of work though. The research was overwhelming at times. Websites upon websites, magazines, books, different people's inputs, salesmen trying to sell you different things depending on which store you went to, etc. I narrowed it down to one of many Sony HDTVs or a Samsung C or D series. After narrowing it down to those 2 brands, it was a little easier. I went to about 4 different Fry's Electronics and 7 different Best Buys to check it out in different situations. After that, it came down to the UN55D8000 (boy, did I memorize those numbers). To make the decision easier, I was looking on Amazon, and to my amazement, they had it for $500 less that everyone else, plus free shipping. Score!With the free shipping, it usually takes a little longer. I would say, from the time the order was placed, until it got to my front door, it took about 1.5 weeks. It came delivered from Home Direct, USA and had no issues with delivery. They were going to set up the TV, but I told them not to, since my entertainment center hadn't come in yet. I opened up the box, put the TV on a soft cloth (our bed's comforter) and installed the stand. Eight screws, piece of cake. I connected the Directv receiver and a PS3. There are a few settings you will set in the beginning when the TV turns on. Takes about 2 minutes, literally. After that, the fun begins! Going from 1080i to 1080p is a huge difference! I had a recording of Chuck on the DVR and it almost looked live. I also watched some regular satellite programming and even the non-HD channels looked amazing.After wiping the drool off the floor, I wanted to check out the 3D part of the TV. I popped in the free copy of Shrek the 3rd in the PS3, put on the glasses and waited to be amazed. Aside from the amazing colors, it looked exactly like 2D! WTH?! Then, I remember reading somewhere that the PS3 does indeed play 3D movies, BUT with an upgrade. I waited about 30 minutes for the upgrade to finish. After that, loaded up the dvd again, and there was the movie with that funky 3D image. Hey wait, I have 3D glasses on, how come I see that. Oh, oops. Batteries need to be installed in the glasses. Finally! The 3D image was awesome! Seriously, watching TV in 3D is amazing. I can't wait `til there's more media in 3D. As it stands right now, the only real movies in 3D are either documentaries or cartoons, with the exception of a few regular movies (i.e. Resident Evil, Step Up 3, etc.)I just set it up last night, so I can't give you a whole lot more information. But, even if I did have more time, I don't think I can give you the detailed specs that you might be looking for. I'm not an expert on home theater. Here's an overview of pros and cons:PROS:* The lack of a bigger bezel really does make a difference. Not only aesthetically, but in terms of functionality, too (better 3D viewing. It looks like you're looking thru a window.).* Images are spectacular. Whether it be regular programming, HDTV programming, or Blu-Ray.* Price on Amazon was very good!* Delivery was pain-free.* A lot of settings options, so you can set up the TV to your preference and the viewing scenario (i.e. movie, standard, etc.)* 3D movie watching is stunning! I just wish Panasonic didn't have exclusive rights on Avatar.CONS:* SmartTV is a cool feature. But, not a necessity. I really doubt that I'll Facebook or Tweet from the TV.* Audio isn't great, but it's adequate. I wasn't really expecting much from a flat screen TV.* Did not come with the touch-screen remote as was supposed to be the case in the beginning of the year.* Have to mail in the vouchers (or register online) in order to get the 3D glasses. True, you do get a 3D starter kit with this TV, which has the glasses, but those glasses are a little different and use batteries. Also, you have to send out to get the free copy of Shrek Forever and Megamind. I really shouldn't complain, though, since these are free.* Needs a more detailed manual on how to use most of the features. The manual it comes with is thick, but it's just because it's the same thing in different languages.Sorry for the long review. Us Yelpers write a lot of gibberish, don't we?UPDATE: After playing around with the TV a little more this weekend, I noticed that the top of the screen had some light flickering (around where the bezel meets the screen and it was about 1/16" tall and went almost across the whole TV. I'm hoping it's not the "edge lighting.") It only did this on some channels on Directv. Most channels were fine and Blu-Ray was fine. I'm thinking it's either the receiver or possibly the cheap HDMI cable. I have a Monster M1000 series cable coming in later this week, so I'll switch it out and update.Also, there has been talk all over online about people having problems pairing the remote. I had zero problem and did it about 5 feet away from the TV.One last thing, one of the glasses in the free 3D kit didn't seem to work. I changed out batteries and nothing. Then, the next morning, I tried it again, but this time turning off the bluetooth in my phone, and it worked. Whether this had an effect on it, I don't know. But, just thought I'd throw that out there.BTW, this weekend, I watched Tangled in 3D and played MLB2K11 on the PS3...... WOW! I'll have to admit, I liked 3D, but I thought it was just a novelty. No way. 3D is much different now than when we had those blue and red glasses. It changes the whole experience.UPDATE #2: Didn't have to do anything to get the line gone. It just went away one day.Also, I finally got the 3D glasses from the voucher that's in the TV. Unfortunately, they are the 3300s and not the 3700s that I kept seeing from people at CES. I won't knock the rating down, but I am a little disappointed that the glasses and the remote that were advertised earlier in the year didn't come with the unit, nor even thru mail. Also, the charger for the glasses is $199! No, thanks. I'll just charge it using the USB cable.

I have been playing with this TV for one week, the image a color accuracy was great until I notice there is a white halo in the left and right side of the TV. After reading other users and expert reviews, seems like the screen uniformity problem is persistent.I chat with Samsung representative and this is what they told me: Please wait for a Samsung Agent to respond. I could wait another week but don't have more time to wait before having my window to return... so I have finally decided to return it since the white halo doesn't go away and this TV is just too expensive to have this type of problem... if this TV would be $1500 or less, I would keep it for sure.To be very balance in my review, still think the colors are great and the exterior design of the TV is the best I have ever seen, but it seems like this great exterior design is the one creating the screen uniformity due to the thin bezel...I have also notice two additional minor issues with this TV, motion blur issues on fast pace scenes and the remote control range which is relatively short (8 feet or so).So I'm switching to a recently announced Samsung PND8000 which is supposed to be top rated plasma... same interface and remote control than the UND8000, I will write a review once I get the chance to play with it...

I wanted to give this TV a glowing review; after all, it has some of the latest LED technology, and the style is trend setting. After a week with this TV, I am less than satisfied with the 'Samsung Experience'. Let me get this off my chest first. Did you ever go to an event, like a county fair, early, when not all the rides and attractions were open? You're excited because it looks like it can be a lot of fun, but it's just a bit too early for the full experience. Well, that's the way I feel about this TV. First of all, the 3d glasses that are supposed to ship with this TV were not in the box. Instead, there is a voucher you may mail in, or go online to order (which I did). After a week and no response, I called to find out why the delay. I was told to read the voucher's fine print, which said there was a 10-12 week wait for the glasses. Not good. Secondly, I found an issue with the remote control unit, which is not a fun thing to have in your hand. It is sort of short and stubby, with two sides. One side has a QWERTY keyboard for text entry, and a touch-sensitive pointer. I find that the up, down, right, left controls do not work correctly with my unit, and called support to report this. They seemed very interested in the matter and told me they would call back in 45 minutes (after they set up a testing unit) for further info. There was no call back. Another reviewer mentioned the difficulty in pairing the remote with the TV, via Bluetooth. I also found this to be a problem and not consistently easy to do.Samsung has incorporated a feature called Smart Hub into their 'Smart TV'. This is a portal that has Netflix, Vimeo, YouTube, Facebook, Pandora, a web browser, and several games and applications that are either free or paid for. The feature is nice and I look forward to seeing it develop. You need to register your TV and create an account, similar to an Apple ID, before you can purchase any of the apps. You would think you could do this from the TV, but you can't; you need to go online to do this. Not a big deal, but it was confusing. The Samsung website is not ready for prime time either. The discussion board is not yet running. One nice thing is the Live Help, which works VERY well. However, I was not able to get the level of help I needed.Okay, enough with the gripes. This is one fine TV. It is very light, has a narrow profile and includes a nice, chrome-plated stand that lets you to rotate the TV about 30 degrees in either direction. A big factor for me was the thin bezel, which allowed me to fit a 46" set into my 43" wide cabinet. The TV has plenty of inputs, including some strange connectors that let you to connect component and composite video. I do have a non-HDMI DVD that uses the component connectors, and it worked well. The setup of the TV is not difficult if you have some experience with hookups, and I was able to get all the components and my receiver working in short order. As I mentioned above, I am not a big fan of the shape of the remote, and I am trying to duplicate most of the functionality in my Harmony universal remote.One thing I did was hook up my TV to my iMac to show photos to my photo club. I was not expecting the quality to be better than my 27" iMac, but it was FAR better. The color was most natural in Movie mode, Warm 1 setting. The sharpness was uncanny. I saw no obtrusive artifacts on the screen and was pleased as punch at the jaw-dropping quality of my photo images (and so were the club members). The TV is connected to our UVERSE system, and the HD quality is very good. I have no measurement or calibration tools, but I have a fine eye for photography. The color balance, contrast, and sharpness are excellent. The only thing I need to get a handle on is the 'Film mode', which can turn watching Modern Family into a strange experience; it almost makes some programs look like they were videotaped like a soap opera. I leave this feature 'off' for the time being. Tonite we watched the 10 Commandments (1956), and the quality was incredible! I have yet to see any Blue Ray DVDs, as I haven't purchased a player yet. And, of course, I don't have the glasses for 3D. I do plan to update my review as these things change.This TV merits at least a 4-star rating. I may add another depending on how things develop.Update 6/8/2011Finally received my 3d glasses from the 'Samsung Fulfillment Center'. They are active-shutter type glasses and come with standard USB cords to charge them. You can plug the cords into the back of the set and the glasses will recharge when the set is ON. We watched our first 3D movie together last night. The 3d effect was excellent and I could see no artifacts. The glasses fit over my lenses and were comfortable. They turn on automatically when they sense a 3d broadcast, which is nice.The chunky remote usually just sits waiting to be used, as I have programmed a Harmony Universal remote to allow me to use SmartHub and control most of the functions. SmartHub is still evolving and there are many update messages that indicate it is constantly upgraded. I do enjoy the Vimeo and Vudu sites, as well as Netflix. The gamed, browser and other 'apps' are not appealing to me yet.I continue to laud the picture quality on this set. I can't say it is better than a Sony or Panasonic or other brand, but I have no reason to look further. I can only describe the HD quality as 'rich' and brimming with tonality. The shadow detail amazes me, and the blacks are truly black. I never find the the picture to be overly contrasty or saturated. I also find no reason to fiddle with the controls, once they are set. After over a month of viewing, I still find myself saying 'that's remarkable' when I watch high quality broadcasts. Again, I use ATT Uverse as my cable provider, and our signal quality is very good. I don't expect to buy another TV of this caliber for a good long time, and feel confident that this Samsung will grow with us for years to come.Update 11/18/11After months of use, I still like this TV. Samsung, it appears, is trying to be like Apple and even sent me a survey ploying me with questions about why I liked Apple computers, iPads, iPods, etc. I can see they are trying to formulate a strategy. Let me say that SmartHub is their way of giving TV users an 'app' experience. It has fallen short IMHO. The apps they have are rather cheesy and I'd rather use an iPad while watching TV, than switch to Smarthub and turn off the programming. Another failing, they don't give you access to Amazon streaming for movies (they used to, but not in the 2011 TVs). Why? AppleTV is a good accessory for Netflix, Youtube, and many other features and it has a far better interface. The only thing I like about SmartHub is the 'Explore 3D' feature that has several creative 3D features on it. With the current dearth of 3D source material on DVD, it's nice to have a handy place to experience it and show it to friends. You should really check that out.One negative on this TV, the viewing angle. If you are off-axis, the picture washes out and you lose the experience of seeing really deep blacks.

I have this TV and enjoy the sound and picture quality. I'm a soundaholic. If you've never had a stereo or srs/home theater sound... it DOES take some time to adjust. The sound can be *VERY INTENSE*.I suggest you adjust the sound; turn the TruSurround HD sound *TO OFF*, but do leave the TruVolumn *ON* (you can enter the graphic equalizer presets) use these to set the quality sound you enjoy most. When you do this it's of course 'best' to be playing music, music dvd IS BEST.If you SET the preset equalizer setting to *FLAT OR OFF*... you will be able to enter and customize the settings on your (*bass & treble*) levels.Don't hesitate to play around with the sound settings, one click will return it to the factory settings.You will require a lower volumn level, significantly lower... the audio quality IS dynamic and intense for this TV.

This review is for the 32" and the 47" Vizio as I have recently bought one of each. As far as I can see the menus, remotes and operations of the two units is identical. The screen size is the only difference.The picture is bright and sharp on both units. The 47" is hooked to 1080 HD (I use DishNetwork HD receiver) via HDMI cable and it is impressive - as you might expect for HD. The 32" is hooked to the coaxial input distribution system I use at my home and it is also a top notch picture for a simple coaxial cable hookup. However, please note that there is NO S-Video input at all and the COMPOSITE input (single yellow RCA cable) simply plugs into one of the three RGB COMPONENT RCA inputs. That's maybe a bit confusing but not a deal breaker for me.The remote is full featured as it controls screen size, input selection, Closed Caption and the like with dedicated buttons. Very convenient. The remote also accesses an extensive menu system that allows detailed adjustments of audio and video. Also found in the menu is a JPG viewing feature that allows you to watch slide shows and sort photos by plugging in a common USB drive. I plug the SD card from my camera into a USB card reader adapter, plug it into the Vizio, and review my photos right out of the camera. The USB jack on the rear left is a little difficult, but not impossible, to get to if the TV is flush mounted on a wall.PROS - these are not top of the line TV's, but I am of the opinion that most TV's have a pretty good picture if set up correctly. I use an Avia DVD to calibrate and it really does make a difference. I never use factory or preset audio or video settings - I turn them all off. More on that later as it pertains to complaints about poor audio performance from some reviewers. Also, the manual is written well and is useful and concise. I address the audio issues below but can say that the small stereo speakers on this TV sound pretty good although a bit weak in the deep bass. (Please note that anyone running this TV via HDMI but not using a surround audio system is missing half the fun of HD TV - namely the great stereo or 5 channel audio now available on most HD channels).CONS - I have noticed that once or twice the TV has turned off when I hit the EXIT button on the remote. While clearly a harmless software glitch, it has happened so infrequently that I debated even mentioning it. However, some others may have had more serious trouble with that issue so in the interest of full disclosure I mention it here.There are also complaints from reviewers concerning audio being too loud, too soft, and the volume going up and down! Folks, please turn off all audio enhancements on your receiver/cable box and the TV. Useless stuff with silly names like "Super Surround", "Big Bass Synthesizer", "Wide Sound Enhancer" "Video SuperSharp" and other useless factory settings should be turned off and left off! Check you receiver, your Vizio menus, and anything else in the signal chain and turn all of that extra crap off. Think about it, if you have both the receiver and the TV doing strange things to the pure, clean digital audio/video feeds - there is no telling how all those settings may affect each other. Did I mention turning off all audio/video helpers, enhancements and conditioners? If you want big sound buy a 5.1 surround system. Even the cheap ones sound pretty good these days and watching HD TV without 5.1 surround is like eating Oreos without any milk. This also explains why some of us really don't care how the TV sounds as we never use our TV speakers/audio at all!COMPARISON - my cheap 47" Vizio looks better than my neighbors very expensive 50" Sony TV. We both have DishHD service, we both use an HDMI cable and are using 1080i resolution. Why does my cheap tv have a better picture? Simple - buy or borrow a calibration disk and take 30 minutes to set up your TV - then write down the settings for future use if needed. I use an Avia but there are others just as good. IMHO most people would be hard pressed to tell the difference between these TV's and the high priced units some people buy - particularly if the video is calibrated correctly. If browsing in a showroom, be careful to ignore picture brightness as a selling feature as every TV salesperson knows that uninformed buyers will go for the brighter picture every time.Lastly, please be kindly advised that any digital HDMI or Fiber Optic cable will provide pristine, perfect audio and video feeds. The nature of digital means that the cable either works or it doesn't! The cheap HDMI cables sold here at Amazon and elsewhere will provide exactly the same 1080iHD picture and 5.1 audio as the "Super Monstrosity Mega" cable for ten times more money. Sales people may tell you different, they may even believe their lies, but I have no reason to lie to you as I don't want to sell you anything. One caveat though - if you are running a long HDMI cable run (say 25 feet or longer), you could have trouble trying to use a super cheap HDMI cable.I really appreciate the thoughtful reviews of others as a valuable buying tool and I hope this review has helped you too. Whatever brand you decide on - enjoy your new TV!

I think that the Vizio folks should have made the default to OFF on the SRS TruVolume. If they had I think several of the owners would not be experiencing the issues with the sound. I set mine up, read the reviews, turned OFF the SRS TruVolume feature and now the sound is fine.I'm not sure how high the volume will go. I've got mine on "2" and it is plenty loud and very clear.I purchased this to use with my new Xbox 360 with Kinect. I'm replacing a 19" Sanyo that was purchased in 1989 by my older brother. So, maybe my expectations are not very high...for $299 I'm pleased and it is a tremendous step up from what I had.

I think this is a great TV. I was torn between C350, C530 and this. I ultimately went for this because it was the sweetspot for me between price/performance.Pros - The picture is excellent, my friends have Vizios from 2008 ranging between 26" up to 46" and in comparison, they look dim and unsaturated compared to this model from Samsung. 720p/1080i or downcoverted 1080p looks excellent, the picture quality at 1366x768 looks sharper, brighter and more colorful than other budget 32 inch 1080p models I seen. You can only notice stairstepping/pixels if you sit less than 2 feet away. Which with a TV this size would be way too close. I sit 6 feet away and edges are smooth (I have 20/20 vision.) OTA HD with bunny ears/loop antenna looks flawless. Upconverted 480p content looks great for it's format. The amount of options to play with are great. But, even so, this TV looked excellent on it's factory default settings. This TV also has multiple sound settings such as Movie and Clear voice modes. By the way, the speakers are hidden and loud, I have it set to 5-6 volume (out of 50) when using the PS3, 8-10 when watching TV, with very good sound quality for it's wattage.Cons- 8ms refresh rate, many might not notice but, going from a CRT (SD) to an LCD (HD), it was expected. In games it's not really noticeable but, news tickers and other scrolling text it's noticeable, but, this could be related to the TV being 60hz. Another thing is that it's not true 1080p. 1080p content looks excellent however, it's being displayed at 1366x768. This is a subjective thing, at 6 feet away, 1080p and 1080i/720p look the same on a 32". But, if you want to future proof yourself, get the C530/C550. The stand is fine but, you may have to tighten the screws down until the they stop turning to make it stable. 480i non converted SD channels/inputs look so-so.Synopsis - Besides 480i (SD), excellent picture quality for it's class, even better than comparable 1080p sets from other brands. LCD refresh rate will take a few days to get used to if this is your first HDTV.With Prime, this came the next day for a few bucks more, thanks Amazon.

It was easy to set up and plays cable and DVD's beautifully.Relatively compact size.It has a very special feature for those that are hard of hearing: there is a sound setting called "clear voice".It appears to raise the treble information relative to midrange and bass, and also, makes the distinctions between sounds much sharper. For those hard of hearing, who usually have good bass/midrange hearing but rolled off treble, this will be a revelation. No more annoying your neighbors because you have to blast the TV in order to understand the voices. Also the TV does seem to play closed captions about as well as it can.My aunt is using closed captions on cable TV and standard DVD playback and it works great. We had trouble using CC on a new upscaling DVD player using HDMI but that turns out to be a problem with the HDMI specification; HDMI relies on the source to decode CC and put the words on the screen, whereas older cable formats and resolutions like composite carry the CC signal distinct from the picture to the TV for decoding. This appears to be a major step back but it's not the fault of the TV. If you Google "cc dvd hdmi" you will find a LOT of conversation on the net about this problem. No one seems to have a solution.

This is a great, very nice looking HD LCD TV for a very good price. I originally bought the 27 inch Samsung 1080p at Costco, but found it a little small for the space. I was a little hesitant because of the 720p, but I found that this TV actually has a better picture quality than the 27inch 1080p, and its the same price as I payed at Costco (once you factor in taxes and state fees that you do not have to pay at Amazon). The size is perfect, the picture is great (with an HDMI cable) and the sound is also much sharper on this TV than the one I returned to Costco. I even linked my Roku to pandora and am playing it through this tv...sounds great! My one and only complaint is that the remote control is unnecessarily large. Otherwise...this is a great TV for a great price.

After a period of adjustment, I've come to be quite pleased with the quality of this TV. Standard-Definition looks crisp on this TV - and, after having seen the way other brands of TV render standard-definition signals (when I was trying to see if a different TV would be a better fit) - I have to believe that this Samsung TV is among the very best among the recent "entry-level" TVs at displaying standard-definition TV. It's good to know that Samsung hasn't completely neglected the consumer who still watches standard-definition TV - for I imagine that there are many other people out there who need a new TV, but cannot commit to the greater expense of high-definition TV.1ST SET DEFECTIVE, 2ND SET FINE: The original Samsung UN26D4003 that arrived at my door had a couple of problems. There were a few areas on the screen that looked "washed out" (particularly when displaying black and/or dark images) - as though the "pixels" in these areas were not functioning up-to-par. And the overall standard-definition picture left a little to be desired - at least when you stood closely to the screen. Somehow, I thought that it was possible that I had received a defective set - instead of it being a problem with all Samsung UN26D4003s. So I contacted Amazon about the problem - and Amazon was wonderful about shipping (completely free-of-cost) another set to me right away. Sure enough, the problems I had with the first set have been absent with the replacement set. Once things "settled down", I realized that this set really delivers on the quality.SMALL FOOTPRINT: One of the things I like so much about this TV is that - for a TV with a 26" screen-size - it has a small footprint. You can check out the published dimensions for yourself. The borders of the TV are very thin, and there is no visible "speaker bar" underneath the bottom border. These facts contribute to the TV's simple, elegant look: other 26" TVs look bulky in comparison. The TV's smaller footprint saves me precious inches in a modestly-sized, cramped bedroom.NO PROBLEMS WITH STANDARD-DEFINITION (4:3): There was another reviewer - Stan - who had the complaint that the Samsung wasn't displaying the full standard-definition picture of his DirecTV. That review made me hesitate a bit in buying this TV - but after rationalizing that Stan's review didn't mean that I would have the same problem, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the purchase. Sure enough, I was relieved when I had no such problems. The standard-definition picture of my Comcast Cable has fit the screen perfectly. The default display mode is NOT "Zoom" (the setting that gave Stan some problems) - but "16:9". The "16:9" setting does not cut off any part of the picture - and it fills the screen when displaying scenes that were intended to fill the screen. In order to ensure that the picture fills the screen perfectly - be sure that the correct setting is selected. With this Samsung, this setting is NOT called "Zoom" - but "16:9".BLACK BARS NOT SAMSUNG TV'S FAULT: Sometimes, I will watch shows in which the picture does NOT fill the entire screen - black bars will appear across the top and bottom. Whenever this happens (and it happens somewhat frequently) - I know that this is NOT a flaw of the Samsung TV, or even my cable company. It's due to how the show's producer, or the TV station on which the show appears - decides to display its product. It has become a little bit of a trend for companies to broadcast their shows in a widescreen format - with the black bars on the top and bottom. For example, I believe Fox TV is now showing NFL games like this - and ESPN seems to now broadcast most of its shows like this, as well. There is no setting on any TV that will "fix" this. I don't really mind when shows are displayed like this - I'm pretty used to it, and am barely conscious of it. If anyone has a problem with this, there is really nothing you can do but take it up with the TV station or the show's producer.CHECK WITH YOUR CABLE/SATELLITE PROVIDER (IF NEEDED): Apparently, it is possible to make some picture adjustments through your cable's on-screen menu or DirecTV's menu - so if you encounter any problems that you think could/should be fixable, an additional option is to try to fix the problem via your cable/satellite box or company.LOTS OF OPTIONS FOR PICTURE ADJUSTMENTS: This Samsung offers a vast array of picture adjustments - considerably more than most "entry level" TVs. This review has gotten long - so you can check the user manual on the Samsung website for further detail. But if you're anything like me and need to have lower brightness levels and "warmer" colors - this is a great TV to have. It's also great if you like your TV very bright - and/or with vivid colors. There are several settings that allow you to "fine tune" the picture to your liking - including "Advanced Settings".BIG SOUND, LOTS OF OPTIONS FOR SOUND ADJUSTMENTS: The sound is more than adequate for my bedroom. Heck, as far as I'm concerned, the sound would probably be good even in a large living room. The volume goes all the way to "100" - and rarely do I need to have it above "15". Much of the time, I have it below "15". And there are an array of sound-settings which you can select to make those "finer" adjustments: for ex., there is a setting that supposedly enhances people's voices above the "background noise", and a setting that is "ideal" for music. You can activate SRS TruSurround HD on this TV - which gives more of a "movie theater" quality to the sound.ONLY ONE A/V-COMPONENT INPUT: One thing about this TV that may be a drawback is that it only has one A/V input. Furthermore, this A/V input is actually a combined A/V-component input - so you cannot hook up a device that uses A/V (a.k.a. composite) connections and a device that uses component connections at the same time. For those of you who don't need these inputs - or only need to hook up one A/V or component device - this isn't really a problem. But for those of you who need to hook up 2 or more "older" devices that connect via A/V or component - you may be frustrated. It may be possible to get around this limitation by getting a "component to HDMI" adapter or a "composite to HDMI" converter - but I'm not knowledgeable or experienced about this, so I don't know how well this works.DISPLAYS MY VCR/DVD IMAGES WELL: I have a VCR/DVD recorder hooked up to this Samsung TV via the A/V input - and I've been pleased with the quality of the images.CUTE FEATURE: one small, endearing feature of this TV is that it makes a gentle "chime" sound when you power it on or off.SMALL INACCURACY IN AMAZON'S DESCRIPTION: I can assure you that the screen diagonal is a full 26", not the 25.5" that Amazon lists in the specifications above.Overall, this TV lives up to Samsung's good name. 4 stars instead of 5 - simply because I would have liked to have had an extra A/V-composite input.

Great picture and is perfect as a bedroom set, however the lack of ports and the fact that there is no Audio out just keeps this from being a 5 Star product. Honestly don't understand what Samsung was thinking with so little ports and options. To make things worst, the pair of speakers are only 5 watts so don't expect much.Decent buy, could have been better if the speakers were better or had audio out port.

Picture quality is fantastic but..., there is no audio output on this TV. Probably does not matter to most people. If you are hooking up surround sound, does not matter. Personally, I have been more than happy with the sound quality of a couple of good quality PC speakers hooked up to the headphone jack of my previous TVs. This allows volume to be controlled with the existing remote control and results in easier hook-up and less cable clutter. You cannot do that with this TV and you probably will not be satisfied with the built-in speakers on this TV. (Update: Built-in speaker performance improved significantly after changing sound mode to "Movie" and turning "Tru-surround HD" and "Auto Volume" on. Still not as good as external speakers though).Checked four other televisions for sale on Amazon (2 Samsungs, a Panasonics and an LG) just to make sure this feature hadn't been phased out industry-wide and 3 of the 4 had audio output and one had an actual headphone jack.So, if you want to hook your TV up to speakers without losing your ability to control the volume through the same remote, keep shopping.I just assumed all TVs had some kind of audio output.
